Garth Mix–Illustrator/Graphic Designer

Garth spent half his life living in the boonies of Kodiak, Alaska without a lot of television around. He ended up drawing what he saw outside for entertainment. Growing up he actually thought it wasn't time to go back inside until he couldn't feel his extremities and was mildly hypothermic. He drew and painted every animal he saw and Charles Darwin and James Audubon became his heroes.

Garth went to college in Washington state and studied biology, illustration, photography and graphic design. He works in many mediums and depicts a diverse range of subjects and styles. Recent projects have included illustration work on several children’s books and illustrations of marine mammals and sea turtles for field guides, ID placards and websites.

He currently spends his time between Washington and Oregon as a full-time freelance illustrator and graphic designer.
